AIC has been approached by Defra for help in enabling them to speak directly with member businesses who no longer export to the EU from GB, or have had exports severely restricted, as a result of the UK's exit from the EU. The EU has updated its position on retaliatory trade measures against the USA, following last week’s AIC member briefing. The Commission and Member States have decided to merge all the lists of retaliation to the tariffs imposed by the US on imports from the EU and submit them all to the vote by the Member States on 6 or 7 April.
Yesterday (19th March) the UK Trade Remedies Authority issued a Notice of its intention to initiate an Anti-Dumping duty on ammonium nitrate originating in the Russian Federation (Russia). Businesses who wish to participate in the review are asked to contact UKTRA by 3 April 2025.
