AHDB shares Recommended List review findings after AIC feedback
Initial results of the AHDB's Recommended List (RL) review have been published following a consultation in which AIC submitted feedback on behalf of Member businesses in the certified seed, arable marketing and processing sectors.
The review covered a range of points, including the type and nature of RL trials to the way data is analysed and variety decisions are made. AHDB says the results help direct investment, so that the RL delivers important variety data to industry.
Although scant on detail, recommendations arising from industry feedback included improving the online RL offering, as well as having more information on varietal performance with lower inputs, new attributes and regional data.
Rose Riby, AIC's Head of Seed and Arable Marketing, said: "We welcomed the opportunity to have shared Member feedback on the Recommended Lists with AHDB to help improve its offering.
"Initial recommendations shared with industry appear to be positive and AIC looks forward to seeing further details from AHDB on improvements to the RL."
AIC's work encompasses three guiding pillars - Productivity, Environment and Competitiveness - delivering for sustainability and contributing to the circular economy. Find out more here.
In 2022, AHDB's Cereals & Oilseeds sector council recommitted to funding the RL and promised to review it as part of its five-year sector plan.
