AIC's James McCulloch to speak on EU Deforestation Regulation at Food Matters Live
The Agricultural Industries Confederation's (AIC) Head of Animal Feed, James McCulloch, will share valuable insight on the EU's Deforestation Regulations (EUDR) at an event later this month.
Organised by Food Matters Live, a group which connects the agri-food supply chain and policymakers, the industry briefing session will discuss deforestation, examine the key elements of the forthcoming EUDR regulation, and ask how it may shape future sourcing practices for the supply chain.
The new regulation will start to apply from 30 December 2024 and requires companies to fulfil due diligence obligations to reduce global deforestation.
Animal feed focus
In his afternoon session, Mr McCulloch will share with attendees the challenges to feed supply chain sourcing strategies for soya and palm-based feed materials in the animal feed sector.
His session will explore some of these strategies and the EUDR's implications for feed commodity supply chains.
Representatives from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), Tesco, The Insititute of Export and International Trade, and Experts in Sustainable Forest & Agricultural Advice (Efeca) will also be speaking at the event.
The "Navigating EU Deforestation Regulation briefing" is set to take place at Ascot Racecourse on 15 April. For full details and to book your place, visit the Food Matters Live website.
