The Agricultural Industries Confederation's (AIC) Head of Policy and External Affairs Ed Barker was featured on The Spectator's podcast yesterday (7 November), discussing what the Budget means for farmers and UK agriculture.

Offering insight from the agricultural supply industry, Mr Barker joined The Spectator's "The Edition" podcast with journalists William Moore and Lara Prendergast, and The Telegraph's political commentator Simon Heffer.

They discussed changes to agricultural property relief and other Budget implications for farms, the wider agricultural industry and the rural economy. Read AIC's blog reacting to the Budget here.

Mr Barker also explained why the Government needs to establish a clear land-use strategy to support food security and productivity, managing our land as a finite resource and balancing the competing priorities of food production, energy, housing, infrastructure, and environmental protection.

Listen to The Spectator podcast from 16:42 to hear the discussion with AIC's Ed Barker.
