MRLs regulation

All statutory MRLs have been set on an EC-wide basis under The maximum residue levels of pesticides in or on food and feed of plant and animal origin and amending Council Directive 91/414/EEC  Regulation since September 2008. Proposals to set, modify or delete MRLs in Regulation 396/2005 are under regular consideration. These proposals are based on European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) opinions and are subject to votes in the EU Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health (Residues section).
