Professor Susan Jebb has been reappointed as Chair of the Food Standards Agency (FSA) until 31 December 2027.

Professor Jebb took up the role in 2021 and was due to step down in June 2024 at the end of her three-year term as Chair.

Commenting on her reappointment, Professor Jebb said: "I feel energised about the opportunities we have collectively to make a positive difference to the food system.

"This includes the FSA’s work with large national food businesses to make use of their data to improve consumer protections, and our ongoing reforms to the system of market authorisations for new foods.

"The cooperation of everyone in the food system, from government departments and food businesses, to our colleagues in local authorities, remains essential to ensure people have access to safe, healthy and sustainable food.

"I’ve been very grateful for your support and partnership over the last three years, and look forward to continuing to work together."
