Spring fertiliser deliveries
AIC has been in contact with all the main UK farming unions regarding spring fertiliser deliveries. AIC has been made aware that some suppliers have advised farmers that deliveries may not be made until after Easter or until May.
This is due to a combination of late buying patterns, an early spring, and some farmers now unable to apply for SFI and wanting to put a spring crop in.
AIC has asked farming unions for their help in tempering immediate expectations and also to encourage their members in future to plan in advance to have some fertiliser on farm early in the season to ensure they can begin applications when the timing is right.
