Upcoming Consultation on Environmental Charges
The Environment Agency has announced a new consultation regarding a one-off increase for 2025 to certain charges within the Environmental Permitting and Abstraction Licensing Charging Scheme 2022 and the Waste Charging Scheme 2018. The consultation proposes an increase to these charges to accommodate the rise in the cost of the service and enable full cost recovery.
In addition to the immediate adjustments, from 2026 onwards, all charges and fees administered by the Environment Agency will be annually updated in line with inflation.
The Agency seeks feedback from Members to gauge the impact of these proposed changes. Your input is invaluable in shaping a well-informed decision that considers the perspectives of those affected.
