Update on AIC Scotland Policy Manager Ian Muirhead
The briefing is to inform Members that Ian Muirhead, AIC Scotland's Policy Manager, has submitted his resignation to AIC.
Ian joined the AIC six years ago, and through a lot of hard work and with the support of Members in Scotland has raised the profile of AIC Scotland with stakeholders and the Scottish Government.
His work has ensured that Member views have been heard at the highest levels in Scotland and contributed significantly to ensuring that policy development by the Scottish Government has understood the role of the agri-supply chain to Members' businesses and agriculture.
He represented Member views by attending evidence sessions of the Scottish Government, and with wider stakeholders including playing a key role in the development of Food and Agriculture Stakeholder Taskforce (FAST).
Ian is leaving the AIC towards the end of the year to take up a role with the Scottish Government working in the First Minister's office of John Swinney MSP, where I am sure he will seek to explain some of the nuances of agriculture and the agri-supply industry as well as the broader responsibility of his new role.
We are currently recruiting Ian's successor, so if you are aware of anyone who might be interested in the role please do point them towards the advert and application. If anyone would like to speak with me about the role please, do put them in touch.
Please note the deadline for applications is 24 October 2024. The AIC Scotland Policy Manager vacancy details can be found below.
