Following a meeting with AHDB in early March AIC is expecting to receive further detail shortly.

AIC has provided a detailed member briefing, which updates members on current EU agriculture policy. This is split into two parts: 1) the EU Vision for Agriculture 2040 and 2) the ‘omnibus’ package to simplify sustainability policies.

The EU has updated its position on retaliatory trade measures against the USA, following last week’s AIC member briefing. The Commission and Member States have decided to merge all the lists of retaliation to the tariffs imposed by the US on imports from the EU and submit them all to the vote by the Member States on 6 or 7 April.

AIC has provided a summary and initial draft response to Defra’s Land Use Framework for England, for members to view.

Defra have recently launched a survey asking for information on supply chain management of soy, palm, rubber, timber, leather, beef, cocoa and coffee.

Climate Change Agreement data collection for Target Period 6 (TP6) and target setting for the new scheme is underway.
