FIAS was launched on 9 January 2006 and assures fertiliser safety, security and from sourcing through to delivery of finished products to end user and all related activities.

FIAS gives regulators confidence in the product stewardship exercised by the fertiliser industry, ensure the supply of fertiliser is managed such that products can be used on ly for legitimate purposes and that the supply chain is managed at all stages with regard to security, public safety and the environment.

FIAS Participants include manufacturers, packers, ports, merchants, transport operators and stores.

FIAS was launched on 9th January 2006 and assures fertiliser security and traceability in the industry supply chain. The UK government encouraged and supported this industry initiative as an alternative to further legislation. AIC manages the development and implementation of the scheme under the supervision of the FIAS Steering Group, which has representatives from government and industry stakeholders.
